BE BOLD TODAY
It's been awhile, actually since I found out I was pregnant. I am now due in two months, it's crazy how time goes by. Anyways, at my church this weekend we talked about the importance of fellowship and accountability. I feel like life is constantly changing and for me it has been so easy to just get in a rhythm and do the same thing day after day, not worrying about fellowship or community, rather worrying about what I need to get done. But without community and accountability our lives can easily slip away from Christ. There are so many reasons people come up with to not have that fellowship in there life's. I know for me I have been using the excuse, "last time I did I had a bad experience and got hurt". So I stopped trying to have that accountability in my life, and let me tell you with the stage of being a newly wed & about to have a baby I need that community more than ever.
When I think about what community is supposed to look like I think about Hebrews 10:24-25, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." The church community is supposed to love, support, speak truth even when it's hard, and just do life with each other. We aren't meant to do life alone. One verse that I love is Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.". Pretty straight forward isn't it? But that alone shows that community is important to God, not just so we have people to join in the journey with us, but so His children can join TOGETHER and worship Him. I guess all of this to say, lets go back to having that church community, that trust, and accountability. We have seem to change the definition of community over the years. We need to get community to be the way God intended it to be from the beginning. Let's not be scared to tell those people in our lives we need help with something, or that we are struggling. If we can't trust fellow believers and come clean to them, or do life with them, we have lost a huge part of Gods plan for our lives. I pray that we take action and find the community that works for us, whether it's 3 people, or 10, God will be praised!

People are messy, and sometimes they bring that mess with them into church life. It's like family--sometimes there's conflict and pain and we have to work through it. But we are meant to be a body. Together we are stronger than the sum of our parts, and to accomplish the mission God has for us it's essential to be part of a body of believers. Kudos to you for sticking with it.

Amen, God knows we are a mess but He loves us anyways and He gives us people who do the same!

Sometimes we need to remember that when we attend we serve more than our own needs. Maybe you are supposed to notice the little old woman who needed a hug today. Maybe you needed to tell the young mother what a good job she is doing. Don't go sick and spread germs, but otherwise GO.

We need to serve in more ways then we actually do.. how about the other who is a widow, the senior who has no family, the tiolet that needs cleaning.

Yes, the truth of it all is we have to go to Christ first and He will prepare our hearts!
