BE BOLD TODAY
Holiday seasons are wonderful, crazy, stressful, and joyful. Kind of like my life. Dusty shelves, dirty dishes, buckets....yes buckets of laundry, dry shampoo for the third day, baby stuck to the hip, burnt chicken, too much pizza, and alot of coffee. Let's just say life can get a little crazy! Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday. Christmas is a time we get to celebrate the most important person, Jesus. What an amazing season, plus on top of that we get a chance to spend time with people we love, pull out family traditions, and have lots of food! But if I’m being honest, I always get a little anxiety around this time of year. Especially now, being married and a mom, it’s a game changer for sure. Let's face it during the holidays our lives just get a bit more chaotic....
Story time, I finally got Paul to his Dr. appointment, it probably takes about 3 hours to get ready now a days. Anyways, we are in the waiting room and Paul is in his car seat and he had the LOUDEST poop. Everyone in the waiting room just looked at me, like I did it or something. Then we get called back, so I take him out to change him and lets just say it was everywhere. Clothes had to be changed, so I go to my diaper bag just to realize I have NO onesie for him to change into. SO Paul got a diaper and a zip up jacket. Mom of the year award, but it made for a good laugh. Another day, not long after I went to Hobby Lobby.....because I needed to look at things I can never have. This lady is just looking at me, my guess was because im swinging my babys car seat around because I have no muscle! I thought it was a bit weird and just walked away. I get to the mirrors and realize my shorts are not only on backwards, but backwards and inside out. I have many stories I can tell but these are some examples of my day to day life. Now when holidays come I feel like the days are too short, and leading up to them the stress is too big. Why do we stress during Holidays? My guess is it comes once a year, and we want to have the best memories we possibly can. For me this involves a lot of check lists, and a lot of shopping! But in the stress of it all we tend to forget to slow down and enjoy those special moments. Just like in our day to day life, sometimes we go so fast, and stress so much, we can’t even see what those special moments are... Or even funny moments like wearing your shorts inside out and backwards. My wish for this Christmas is for us not to have a goal of the perfect Christmas. But to slow down, and enjoy the people we love, family traditions, and all the food! Take time to smile, pray, and give to others. Let's make this Holiday about the love of Jesus, and how we can spread His love to everyone around us. Let it be a reminder, in our normal day to day life how important it is to spread that year around. I hope your December is magical, joyful, and filled with love.
