BE BOLD TODAY
All night and all morning I've been thinking about the question, "What is normal?". I know, such a weird thing to think about for so long. But it took me to another question, are Christians normal?
The world says people are so different, but media tends to put everyone into one bubble. The Bible says, "I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." - John 17:15-18 We are called to be different, so shouldn't we be the opposite of "normal"? Let me answer the question, no. We are far from normal! But let me tell you this, for me and many others I know the lives we lived before we knew Christ were far from what they are today.
My next question I thought of was, "As Christians do we want to be normal?" No, we want to be so set on Christ that He shines through us all the time, and when people meet us they just have that desire to have whatever it is that makes us different!
Then my last question I thought of this morning is, "What do Christians today need to fix in order to be the opposite of normal in our world today?" First off, we need to stop worrying what everyone will think of us. Now that does not mean do whatever we want. No it means our aim is to live a life pleasing to God. So we need to follow Him, and stick to the principles He's given us. Secondly, we need to do what we speak, we can't just say one thing and do another. We have to deny ourselves pick up our cross daily, "Then He said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." - Luke 9:23 Last but not least, we need to truly just follow God's direction for us. That may not be the one we want to follow all the time, but in the end it is all that matters and the most rewarding. I hope everyone has a blessed day.
